What are App Screenshots?

App screenshots are the first images that your users will see when they click on your app store page. They serve as sneak peeks into your app. It's important that your app screenshots convey the best features of your app and convince users to download your app.

Here's an example of app screenshots:

With the new PassionApps Screenshot Builder, you now have the ability to choose, customize, and design which app screenshots go into both your Google and Apple app store pages.

  • Screenshots for Different Mobile Views (Phone and Tablet)
  • Different App Scenarios (Learn, Lesson, Discover, and Product Page)
  • Adding Captions
  • Color Theme/Picker

Here's a video demonstration on the App Screenshot Builder:

To create your screenshots, follow the steps below:

1. log in to your account.

2. Go to the PassionApps section and select the Screenshot Builder tab

3.  Enable the Screenshot Builder, then go into each section (Learn, Lesson, Discover, Product) and customize them from there.

4. Select the PREVIEW type you would like for your screenshots. You have 4 options:

  • Phone
  • Phone Small
  • Tablet
  • Tablet Small

5. Select the SCENARIO that you'd like to use as a screenshot image for your first screenshot. You will have 4 options:

In this example, we will use LEARN, it will also be displayed in the PREVIEW section.

You can then choose which Mobile Device Template to use for the first screenshot, you will have three options:

  • Screen
  • Black Device
  • White Device

In this example, we will use White Device, you can now personalize the Background Color by clicking on the round color icon:

You can then choose the Caption placement that will go into your app screenshot, this is where you can add texts/call outs, etc. You will have 3 options:

  • None
  • Top
  • Bottom

In this example, we will use the Top Caption. You can enter your caption in the Caption text and also modify the Caption color. You can view your work in the PREVIEW section.

Note: Lesson Screenshots. The system automatically takes a screenshot of the content from the first lesson. If it's a video, the workaround is to add a still image on the first few seconds of the video, so that it will show up instead of a black screen.

6. Once you are done editing your screenshots you can now Publish your apps. Please allow 1 hr for the updated screenshots to appear in the app stores.

Note: Always submit the newest version of your Web App with the adjustments in the Screenshot Builder so your Screenshots will be up to date.
